You are eligible for payment under the settlement if you meet all of the following criteria:

• Either you are a Class Member or you acquired the house after December 15, 2009.



• The shingles about which you are filing your claim meet the definition of Damage as set forth in the Settlement Agreement. Click here for more details.



• The Damage occurred during the period of eligible warranty coverage for your shingles. Click here for more details.



• The Damage was caused by a product defect, not by circumstances beyond CertainTeed’s control such as improper installation or maintenance.



• You submit a Claim Form while the warranty provides you with coverage. If you are an Original Purchaser of CertainTeed Organic Shingles OR first owner of new construction with CertainTeed Organic Shingles installed, the warranty will provide you with coverage up until the end of the original warranty period for the type of shingles, as listed in the chart below. If you are a Subsequent Purchaser who acquired a building (from someone other than the builder/developer) on which CertainTeed Organic Shingles were installed when the building was acquired, you should submit a claim only if the original warranty COVERS you as a subsequent purchaser. Some subsequent purchasers may assert a warranty claim at any time up until the end of the original warranty period for the type of shingles, while other subsequent purchasers are required to file a claim within two years of their acquisition of the building on which the shingles are installed.
